It is with very heavy hearts that we inform our Legion Post 102 family and supporters

of the loss of our longtime Adjutant Gary Munkholm.

Munkholm, Gary O. age 78 of Anoka. Gary was a retired band teacher, Desert Storm veteran and a retired Lt. Colonel in the US Army. He also was a recruiter for West Point Academy after retiring. Gary was a dedicated member of the Ramsey Lions, Anoka American Legion and Anoka Halloween committee. His love for music had him join the Johnny Owen Band with his father and brother when he was younger. He also was a member of the St. Paul Police Band and the North Suburban Community Band. Gary loved to keep busy and spend time on his motorcycles. He enjoyed his yearly Boundary Waters trip with his friends from teaching and cross country skiing. Gary was a very outgoing man who got along with everyone and was loved by his huge circle of friends and family. Preceded in death by his parents, Owen & Dorothy and brother, Tom. Survived by children, Kelli (Matt) Andvik, sons, Brigon (Adam) Munkholm and Michael Munkholm, grandchildren, Mason, Max, Garrett and Braylon, sister, Jeannie (Van) Jensen, nieces and nephews.

**SAL Wednesday Night dinners have returned** 5:30pm - 7:00pm

The SAL will be serving twice a month - the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month. The menu will include the following:

Steak, Chicken Breast or Seasonal Choice, all will include Baked Potato, Salad & Bun

Thank you to all who came out to our Veterans Day Dinner & Program w/guest speaker Chad Malmberg! Captain Chad Malmbeg, retired, shared some of his experiences that led to his Silver Star medal, we enjoyed a delicious dinner and plentiful conversations. Thank you again to all veterans for your service!

CONGRATULATIONS MN CENTERSHOTS POST 102!!!

Allison Buesseler, Minnesota Centershots Post 102 received the highest score in the Precision discipline for the State of Minnesota and is considered the State Champion in The American Legion Junior Shooting Sports National Postal Tournament. Team Minnesota Centershots Post 102 received the highest score in the Precision discipline for the State of Minnesota and is considered the Team State Champion in The American Legion Junior Shooting Sports National Postal Tournament.

See below for a short BIO of each Centershot!



Tanner is a sophomore in high school, competing in precision air rifle and smallbore rifle. He has been a member of MN Centershots for 3 seasons. A recent success was a 3rd place, J2 Class finish at the 2020 Winter Air Gun competition at Camp Perry, OH.

Nathan is a high school sophomore and the longest member with the MN Centhershots at 7 years. He travels to national matches for both precision air rifle and smallbore rifle competitions. Including matches in Georgia, Indiana and Ohio. 

Allison, a High School Senior, is a 5 year member of the MN Centershots. She competes in both precision air rifle and smallbore rifle. She has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Kentucky rifle team and starts this fall.

Julianna has success in both precision air rifle and smallbore rifle disciplines. Now in her 2nd season with the MN Centershots, the high school junior traveled to Nashville, TN for the Montgomery Bell Classic where she finished 1st overall and set multiple range records. 

Parker in his 2nd season with the MN Centershots, competes with both precision air rifle and smallbore rifles. The 7th grader recently traveled with the team to Grand Forks, ND and contributed to a solid 1st place team victory at the NRA Open Smallbore Sectional match.

Elly is a first year MN Centershots member competing with sporter air rifle and has recently joined the team at smallbore practices. The 8th grader’s sporter scores have been improving and her smallbore skills will be following the same success.

Megan is in her 2nd year with the MN Centershots. She has recently made the transition from sporter to precision air rifle and is also training in smallbore. The transition has been really successful as she is putting up great scores in both disciplines!
